After the event: “Wine is bottled poetry”
Shane McCauley opened the evening with eloquent renditions of his own works from the Drunken Elk. Many of which drew wry smiles and nods from the enthusiastic audience. The range of topics and styles of Shane’s work were evidence of his much awarded skill as a writer.
The imagery flowed as the wine was sipped and the cheese nibbled.
The open mike section proved so popular that we had time to enjoy but one poem from fourteen poets and two enthusiasts. There was unanimous support for another “Poetry with Wine” event – watch this space!
