After the event: Daniela & Stefania

Our latest library event was a pleasant way to spend an hour: listening to two enthusiastic cooks with a passion for traditional Italian food.

In this presentation, Daniela and Stefania showed us how to make pasta spirals using a metal rod and made it look super easy. Years of practise is bound to help! Detailed instructions are found in their cook book, ‘Saporito!’ (congratulations to our two door prize winners) so anyone who wasn’t brave enough to try it for themselves on the day can do so from home, if you don’t mind getting a bit messy with the flour and dough…

The ladies were up to their usual antics as seen on the show My Kitchen Rules back in 2011, bantering and generally disagreeing over finer details, which was funny to watch. They had also pre-prepared something special for the event, another recipe that features in their book, ‘salsiccia grigliata’ (grilled sausage*).  This was followed by some super light sponge cake and tips and tricks for creating your own. Buon appetito!
