Orange Penguins are classic!

I love a bargain when it comes to buying books and nothing could be cheaper or better value than an Orange Penguin popular paperback. They cover the classics like Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen), Jane Eyre (Charlotte Bronte) and The Big Sleep (Raymond Chandler) and also more modern publications such as From Russia with Love (Ian Fleming), We Have Always Lived in the Castle (Shirley Jackson) and It’s Raining in Mango (Thea Astley). There is a wide range of both fiction and non-fiction and come in simple orange and white editions. The best part is that they are a bargain!

But there’s more! At the library, we have a book club called the Orange Book Club where you can come along and read and discuss the current Orange Penguin with others. On Tuesday 31st of August at 7 pm at Manning library, the group will be discussing Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck and at the end of that meeting they will be given the new book, In the Winter Dark By Tim Winton to read for the next gathering.

You can purchase the current book for $10 and that includes refreshments and notes as well or you can bring your own book and pay $5 for notes and refreshments. For more information call Manning library on 9474 0828 or visit our website  www.southperth.wa.gov.au and click on the library link at the top of the page.

We hope to see you there!
